Ice Rink was built in the late 1950’s near Falls road and
Kelly avenue
in
Northwest Baltimore
. It was originally named Meadowbrook Ice Rink and was renamed as Northwest in 1975. During Hurricane Agnes, in September of 1972, it was nearly destroyed by flood waters. The water was more than 4 feet high in the rink itself. In September of 1980, Hurricane David again nearly destroyed the
Baltimore
ice rink. It was noted for the very small ice surface, 175’ x 80’, and upper and lower lobby ‘dressing rooms’. The east side of the rink featured a cinder block wall barely behind the side boards.
